Celebrating Dr. Durbin's dedication to compassionate care

Every day patients have the opportunity to recognize Ascension Wisconsin associates who went above and beyond during their care through Ascension Wisconsin Foundation's Guardian Angel program.

Recently, Dr. Durbin, an internist with Ascension Medical Group in Racine, was celebrated as the first — and only — individual to receive five Guardian Angel recognitions. Each Guardian Angel recognition illustrates how Dr. Durbin's compassion and dedication make a lasting impact in the lives of patients. Congratulations, Dr. Durbin!

Dr. Durbin's Guardian Angel Nominations

The following testimonials were written in each patient's own words.

"Because of the retirement of my former primary care provider, I was required to search for another. I had heard absolutely wonderful things about Dr. Durbin and called to make the switch. I was advised that Dr. Durbin's caseload was full and that he was unable to add any new patients. Being rather persistent, I asked that he consider adding me to his caseload because of the retirement of my previous doctor. He agreed to do so and immediately scheduled an appointment for a “meet and greet" with a new patient.

My wife always accompanies me to doctor appointments because I am hard of hearing and a stroke has left me somewhat forgetful. At the first appointment, Dr. Durbin completely reviewed all of my records and got himself up to date on any concerns that I might have. In addition, when he learned that my wife was also going to be seeking a new primary care doctor, he agreed to add her to his caseload because he feels it is important to keep family members together.

I couldn’t be happier with the services that I have received since being accepted by Dr. Durbin. He consistently goes above and beyond responding to messages promptly - even on weekends! I don’t know where he finds the time to be so thorough.

The office staff is also very responsive to my needs and tries to resolve any issues that I may have expeditiously. Always courteous and respectful."

Guardian Angel, a program of Ascension Wisconsin Foundation, allows patients to recognize any Ascension Wisconsin associate that went above and beyond during their care. 

Patients who opt in to receive communication from Ascension Wisconsin are sent an email inviting them to honor an associate, or multiple associates, by sharing their story, making a gift in their honor or both!
