Congratulations Danielle, Patricia, Dr. Rudic, Laura Davis, Dr. Claudia Koch and Sara Clark for this heartfelt recognition.
Guardian Angel Nominations
The following testimonials were written in each patient's own words.
Danielle, registered nurse at Ascension Franklin
"I went through a major surgery and had my stomach removed. Danielle was one of the special nurses that took me under her wings. She was so enlightening and went over and above to help make my long two week stay in the hospital so uplifting. Without her in my life, it would not have been the same. Thank you Danielle for being you."
Patricia, registered nurse at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Milwaukee
"Patricia was the absolute perfect nurse for me during my labor and delivery experience! Even though I was delivering my third child, I had never been induced before and was trying for my second VBAC. I had lots of questions and a good amount of nerves not knowing exactly what to expect. Patricia not only calmed all of my worries, she was an excellent coach and support person through everything. She took such excellent care of me and did everything she could to make sure baby and me were not only safe, but comfortable the entire time, going above and beyond to do whatever we needed. When I look back on the birth of our daughter, she will always be a bright spot in the memory!"
Dr. Rudic, internist with Ascension Medical Group
"Dr. Rudic has been my doctor for over 20 years. I have told many people that if it wasn’t for him, I would not be alive today. When my prior doctor could not find anything wrong with me I switched over to Dr. Rudic. Through him I found out I had a blockage in my heart. He was very much into preventative care. He made sure I stayed on top of those tests. Again, he made sure I went to the appropriate screenings at the appropriate time. Nine years ago they found that I had stage 2 colon cancer through a routine screening! He is my Guardian Angel. I lived to see my first grandchild born!!"
Laura Davis, a nurse practitioner with Ascension Medical Group in Appleton
"I recently became sick earlier this year for approximately 4-5 weeks, with no idea what from. Laura Davis did a phenomenal job prescribing different tests to try to figure out what was causing my sick-like symptoms. This included personal calls to discuss symptoms and progress. It finally turned out to be an infection in which Laura prescribed an antibiotic. I really do appreciate Laura's help and determination through that extended episode. Never once did she question how I was feeling as all tests that were done showed no problems. I would recommend Laura to any family member or friend, and also want to thank her for her help & dedication."
Dr. Claudia Koch, a family medicine physician at the Bay View Family Health Center
"I have been a patient of Dr. Koch's for 20 years. In that time, she has attended to my recovery from cancer, the birth of both our children, countless wellness visits, and consults for all sorts of illnesses. Throughout each and every encounter, Dr. Koch has been kind. She has been skillful. She has brought the perfect blend of medical expertise and practical wisdom. And she has listened, both to what we say and how we say it. While I know she runs a full practice, and I have personally referred many friends and family members to her, she always makes it seem like we are the only patients on her schedule. I truly don't know how she does it. And the entire team at the Bayview Family Health Center provides that same high caliber of service — always going above and beyond our expectations. Dr. Koch is a gift to our family. To our Ascension ministry. And to the Greater Milwaukee community."
Sara Clark, registered nurse at Ascension NE Wisconsin - Midway Place
"I thought to myself, am I going to be ok? Or am I going to die? Once we arrived at St. Elizabeth Hospital, I was quickly rushed to CT. Sara gave my daughter her personal cell phone number and said, 'Please let me know when your mom is ok. I will be praying.' That meant the world to me and my family. If Sara would not have been so caring and attentive, I may not be here today. I am thankful for Sara's quick action and for all the staff that assisted me that day and during my hospital stay. I praise God that He put me in your hands that day, as it was right were I need to be"
